If you wear perfume for women then you more than likely are familiar with the Elizabeth Arden collection of fragrance perfume and skin care products. Elizabeth Arden is a leader in women’s beauty products and is a name well known worldwide in the beauty business. But who exactly is Elizabeth Arden? Elizabeth Arden was born Florence Nightingale in 1878 in Canada and started out as a nursing student in Toronto until she dropped out of college and moved to New York City to live with her brother. Elizabeth Arden became a bookkeeper for a pharmaceutical company and started hanging out in the lab where she tinkered with different formulas to make skin care creams and makeup. Elizabeth Arden was the first person to introduce eye make up in the United States and to open salons worldwide. Many of the products that she invented in the earl part of this century remain on the market today and the name Elizabeth Arden is still an icon in the world of beauty. In her personal life Elizabeth Arden was not quite so successful having married and divorced twice in a relatively short time. Ms. Elizabeth Arden bore no children but her legacy continues to live on in the products she created.
